Browser apps can call the RPC directly — this site's wallet panel does exactly that for balances and genesis checks. The node holds no keys: sign transactions client-side and send them with sendTransaction.
Slots, epochs and commitment#
Time on Kyvro is counted in slots, grouped into epochs of 432,000 slots. Block height counts only slots that produced a block; some slots are skipped, so slot numbers have gaps. Reads take a commitment level: processed, confirmed or finalized. getSlot defaults to finalized — use that when you need a number that will not move.
Finality follows the single validator: once it has voted a slot, that slot is final. There is no multi-validator consensus on Testnet, so there is nothing to wait out beyond the validator itself.
Single validator
The Testnet runs one validator. A restart, upgrade or crash halts the chain until it returns. Build retries and backoff into anything that talks to the chain.Check your connection#
Confirm the RPC answers and that its genesis hash is Kyvro's. A different hash means you are pointed at a different cluster.
